The Cat® industrial engine range is extremely broad. Engines are available from 2-cylinder models to large V-16 engines. Power ratings range from 8.2 to 6,100 kW (11–8,180 hp). Below you find a few examples of the latest models.
The Cat C2.8 is durable and reliable in the toughest off-road applications.
Prior to ever arriving on a jobsite, the C2.8 stood up to extensive field testing, ensuring it would tackle the harshest projects with ease. The Cat C3.6 keeps power up and consumption down.
Smaller in size than previous generations, the Cat C3.6 is a powerful engine in a compact, easily integrated size that saves you both time and money. With flexible aftertreatment mounting options and simplified installation, the C3.6 can handle a variety of applications with agility and speed. Delivering 5% more power density and 12% more torque,* the C3.6 gives you reliable, optimal performance. The Cat C4.4 minimises size while maximising performance.
When it comes to the C4.4, its numbers tell the story. First, it saves more than 18% in fuel consumption, when compared to 6-cylinder platforms, and is specially balanced to be its most effective, all the time. It’s also reduced in length by 20%, height by 5% and weight by 40%*—which all adds up to significantly less installation time and cost for you. Plus, with 15% more power density and 10% more torque, the C4.4 promises your most efficient engine output yet. Simplified maintenance and scheduled service make the C4.4 a steady, reliable force of power.

The Cat C7.1’s savings result in peak productivity.
Downsizing comes with plenty of benefits, including an 18% decrease in fuel consumption. The C7.1 delivers those savings, along with 4% less DEF consumption and EGR integration. Its passive regeneration technology lets you perform your toughest tasks in the harshest environments, keeping uptime at its peak. When you downsize from a 9-litre engine to the C7.1, you’ll experience reduced length by 20%, height by 5% and weight by 40%*—making it your right-sized, rock-solid source of power.

The new Cat® C13D engine is versatile enough to power nearly every application and industry. This anticipated addition is a well-rounded powerhouse. Longer service intervals make doing more easier – along with impressive, unmatched power density. This conveniently compact engine was designed for easy installation.
With unmatched power density compared to other 13-liter engines, this industry-leading engine sits 20% above its class. Not to mention increased payload capabilities and 25% more low-speed torque compared to previous generations. Think you can put this much power to work? The C13D is your engine.
With a compact engine package and industry-leading 40 kW/L (55 Hp/L) power density, the new Cat C13D engine makes downsizing easy. Its highly integrated design optimises chassis space – all while providing more power in a smaller package making machine integration easier. With a full list of configurable options including engine mounted aftertreatments and full cooling packs, the C13D makes for an easy-to-install option.
When there's work to do, minimal downtime is a must. That's why the C13D engine was engineered for extended service intervals up to 1,000 hours. With lower fuel and fluid consumption, your equipment will be in the shop less and on the jobsite more. When it does come time for routine maintenance, the C13D's service-friendly design makes for simple tune-ups.
